Transportation from ICN to Conference Venue

The Conference venue is Seoul Olympic Parktel, Seoul, Korea, and here are main transportation options to reach Seoul Olympic Parktel from Incheon International Airport (ICN):

- Limousine Bus (Recommended for Comfort and Convenience)

• Bus No. 6200: This bus provides a direct route from Incheon Airport to Olympic Parktel.
• Departure Points:
  • Terminal 1: Bus Stop 4A, 4B
  • Terminal 2: Bus Stop 14, 15, 16
• Schedule: Buses run approximately every 30 minutes from early morning until late evening.
• Fare: ₩17,000 (~$12 USD) A ticket can be purchased using cash or credit card at the airport.
• Travel Time: Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
• Arrival: The bus stops directly in front of Olympic Parktel, eliminating the need for additional transfers.

- Taxi (Fastest Option)

• Availability: Taxis are readily available at both terminals:
  • Terminal 1: Exits 6 or 7
  • Terminal 2: Exits 3 or 4
• Fare: Approximately ₩84,000 ($60 USD) to ₩110,000 ($80 USD), depending on traffic and time of day.
• Travel Time: Around 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
• Note: Taxis offer door-to-door service, which is convenient if you have heavy luggage or prefer a direct route. No tips needed in Korea :)

- Subway (Budget-Friendly Option)

• Route:
  1. Take the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport Station.
  2. Transfer to Line 9 and travel to Seokchon Station.
  3. Transfer to Line 8 and get off at Mongchontoseong Station.
  4. From Mongchontoseong Station, it's approximately a 7-minute walk to Olympic Parktel.
• Fare: Approximately ₩4,350 ($3 USD)
• Travel Time: Around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
• Note: This option is cost-effective but involves multiple transfers and some walking.

General Transportation in Seoul

Transportation in Seoul is convenient and reasonable in price.

- Taxis

• Availability: Taxis are widely available, affordable, and reliable in Seoul. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
• Types:
  • Regular Taxis (usually silver or white) – starting fare around ₩4,800 (~$3 USD).
  • Deluxe Taxis (black with yellow sign) – more spacious and higher fare.
• App Services:
  • Kakao T (Taxi) – the most popular ride-hailing app in Korea (available in English).
  • Uber – operates only Uber Black and Uber Taxi in Seoul, not as widely used as Kakao T.

- Buses

• Types:
  • Blue buses: Long-distance routes between districts.
  • Green buses: Shorter, local routes and neighborhood connections.
  • Red buses: Intercity express buses between Seoul and surrounding areas.
  • Yellow buses: Circulate within central Seoul.
• Operation Hours: Generally from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
• Payment: T-money transportation card is accepted and enables free transfers between buses and subways. There are some buses with "no cash" service, so you better purchase a transportation card in a subway station, which can be used for buses as well.  

- Subway

• Coverage: Over 23 subway lines connect Seoul and the greater metropolitan area.
• Language Support: All station signs, maps, and announcements are provided in English.
• Operating Hours: Typically from 5:30 AM to midnight.
• Payment: T-money card or mobile transit cards. A mobile transit card or ticket can be purchased in every subway station.
• Strengths:
  • Punctual, safe, and clean.
  • Excellent coverage of major tourist and business areas.
